We are women helping women in the Greater Washington Area.

The Washington Women Entrepreneurs COVID-19 Recovery Fund is an initiative led by Luna Startup Labs, with the support of Citrine Angels and small business advocates across the Greater Washington Area. The fund was created to help minimize the financial disruption many women business owners are experiencing due to the global pandemic. 

Businesses that qualify for assistance from the Fund are:

• Small businesses that employ less than 30 people;

• Based in the Greater Washington Area;

• Have been operating for at least one year;

• Majority owned and operated by a woman.


If your woman-owned small business has been severely impacted by COVID-19, please complete the full COVID19 Recovery Grant application to apply for immediate support in the form of grants up to $5,000.

Q: What is Washington Women Entrepreneurs COVID-19 Recovery Fund?

A: The Washington Women Entrepreneurs COVID-19 Recovery Fund is an initiative led by Luna Startup Labs, with the support of Citrine Angels and small business advocates across the Greater Washington Area. The initiative was created to lift up women business owners by helping to minimize the financial disruptions that many are experiencing due to the global coronavirus crisis.

Q: Who is eligible to apply?

A: Businesses that qualify for assistance from the Fund are:

• Small businesses that employ less than 30 people;

• Based in the Greater Washington Area (DC, MD, VA);

• Have been operating for at least one year;

• Majority owned (51%) and operated by a woman.


If your woman-owned small business has been severely impacted by COVID-19, please complete the COVID19 Recovery Grant application to apply for immediate support in the form of grants up to $5,000.

Q: When will the application portal be open?

A: The Washington Women Entrepreneurs COVID-19 Recovery Fund will begin accepting applications at 5pm on April 22, 2020 and the portal will remain open until midnight on May 15, 2020. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis starting on May 11, 2020.

Q: What is the application process?

A: The application process is designed to be quick and easy for women-owned small businesses in the Greater Washington Area. To apply for a recovery grant, all you have to do is fill out this one page application that takes less than 15 minutes to complete.

Q: How much funding is available?

A: The Washington Women Entrepreneurs COVID-19 Recovery Fund will award competitive grants up to $5,000 to women-owned small businesses on a rolling basis. At this time, we anticipate making at least 10 grants to women-led companies in the Greater Washington Area.

Q: Who created the program?

A: The Washington Women Entrepreneurs COVID-19 Recovery Fund was created by Kim Cayce, the founder of Luna Startup Labs. Kim is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and advocate for women's economic empowerment.
